I wonder if someone can enlighten me on whether or not i have a verto or pre-verto clutch. I removed the engine direct from a metro turbo which had a cable pulling a short clutch lever, but now i want to change it to hydraulic with the slave cylinder etc. But i need to buy a new lever and push rod but i am not sure which lever to buy, ie: long (pre-verto), short (verto)?

A quick responce would be great as i need to purchase it today.

Thanks

Short, verto is the one you need.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

right then dave the stock long armed pre vertro clutch cover assemley will do the job on a vertro clutch ?

as apposed to using the old metro vertro Hydraulic short arm version. with that crap bracket slanted down the side of the clutch cover.

I think that is what Dave is suggesting, the Mini verto hyd setup as fitted to boggo 998 minis from 1984 onwards?

As far as I know, the early type plunger and lever arm are the wrong ratio for the verto setup, and do not work. The release bearing does not work for definate.
