the metro turbo seem to had two different advance curves, one for the mk1 with the blue cover (clipsed) and one with black cover (screwed),
who could explain the difference between them?

Not sure but the Mk1 is supposed to be the better of the two. *happy*

I have an email from someone a LONG time ago that wanted to know the differnce, so gained access to a distributor test rig. Both the units he tested were exactly the same....

I've also heard it many times that the mk1 unit is superior and prior to this testing also had this view (because i never knew any different)...

I'll see if i can find the mail - but i don't have a clue who it was from mind!!!

Ive got an Aldon modified Mk1 unit to try but i think i may be going for mappable ignition, if im going to do a job im doing it properly :)

Only thing with the Mk1 is that the amplifier is seperate so you have to find somwhere to mount that.

*wink*, ian
I'm also like the welldone job,
but the mappable emerald ignition, or perahps an other will wait a little that I have enough money to buy a set of pistons *crying*
to start this new engine, I already have a mk1 and an mk2 distributor , so I want to know which is the best one.
cheers

Hi Dave, that comparison was done by me about 2 years ago. I wiil have a look on my firm computer if I can find the file. But I think you are right, there was no difference in the advance curve!

Im into modifying advance curves at the moment, so what does anyone think the curve 'should' be like? Dizzys are well renowned to have the wrong curve so as not to be anywhere near preignition. this, of course looses power.!
