Well im putting a new front end on the mini, and new engine! (turbo of course! *wink* )

so ive removed the panels and removed the engine and subframe bout a meter! but the wheels are cocking up now so it wont move!*frown* so do you guys have anyway in which you keep the wheels straight when moving it?

just id like to move it from the middle of my drive before me dad gets back! else me and the mini will be taking a oneway journey to the tip! *crying*

cheers martin

Is the engine still on the frame?

The easiest way is to use an extra person to help you.

Otherwise it's move it a bit at a time.

First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

i had this problem, i think my solution was to slowly and surely move it one side at a time, kind of like how you would walk if you were suddenly unable to move your knees and hips (try it iff you dont get me)

yeah i thought bout that! but it was like dads coming home hmm i guess i better shift it! so started to move it and it toppled over onto my foot! Kinda painful (not as bad tho as it would have been if me dad got back n there was an engine outside!!!!!

Luckly the jack was by my side so i jacked the block up somewhere around the alternator part! (my foot was still under the subframe, n throbbin like crazy!

With the jack under it just wheels around n turns fine! every so often the wheels started to turn so i went back a bit then forward again!!!!

The hardest bit getting it back hidden in the garage was getting it up the little step into the garage!!!!!

thanks all for the help tho!!!

i think ill make something more permanent, as it will be going in and out while i work on the front end!!!

marks mole grip idea sounds best to fix them in position if u have a few pairs of mole grips.

my and pot_dan have been in a similar position where a golf buggy at work snapped a trackrod on the furthest posible part of the golf course. it made a right mess of the grass

well ive made a good job of it me tinks now!!!!!

I was sat thinking how to do it!
how does a mini steer using the steering rack!
so ive took the steering rack attached it to the arms as it would on the car, n then duct taped the steering rack to the subframe!!!
bobs ur uncle it works!!!!! :)
