Just been offered(for free !) a P/R reg rover 214 maybe a 216 twincam which has suffered a timing belt failure(garage quote 700 quid+)are they the k series engine from the metro or something differant

214 is the 'k;
216 is the Honda.
216GTi is the more desireable Honda one...

Just found out it is the jelly mould one which are all K series,The honda engines where only fitted in the older wedge shape ones

Cheap 16 valve head required for a 1.4 k series then

fwiw if its the plastic inlet mpi engine, all cylinder heads are the same for all plastic inlet k-series mpi's (with dizzy, which yours will have) with the exception of the vvc.. so get downthe scappers, cant get moveign in my local for k's.

2 cylinder heads were fitted, a "hi-port" and a "low port". no other differences accross 1.4/6/8. :) plastic inlet mpi's are high port, spi's are low port and the metal inlet mpi's can be both i think.. :S
