just about to do this myself...... remeber to use the correct tubing (cds) normal steel tube is not good enough...... cds can be had from merlins for certain, and at least one other place someone suggested when i asked where to get it from... (completely forgotten now!!) And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers! |

also i was thinking of putting the bar between the two back feet, is this too low ie creates too much of an angle, although saying that most people i've seen mount them to the lower seat belt bolts? |

Elmdon metals is the place i have seen to use. They do a specific CDS tube which conforms to the minimum outlined spec by the MSA for rollcages. Not got the contact details to hand, but googling should find the contact details. |

I'd agree with Iani on this. If your seat is way back like mine (my leg is straight with the clutch down and I'm 5' 10") then the harness bar from minispares is a bit too low to get the sholder straps at the right angle.

Yes, there is room for a passenger. And you could most definately NOT run without that bar to the floor. If you log on to www.vintageminiracing.com you'll see why.

ah works now thanks just one thing i dont get the guy says: "Secondly is if you use the bolt-on doors bars and other braces you must tack weld the attachment points. In the pics below you will see that on this car the bar pivoted around its connection point which makes it much less strong than if it was solid welded. You don't have to lose the removable feature just weld the attachment clamp" does he mean weld the bar to the car near the door hinge or just weld up the clamp as suely if you weld the clamp you lose the removability?
