Helicopter tape as Tom says but if they have been properly prepped, the paint wont chip.
I seriously doubt it! |

Right its sorted, hes getting me a roll of it thats 3" wide that should do the front half of our arches. Its probably big enough to do the whole mini its 60"! haha i guess its that long though to do the front of aeroplane wings!

Another reason which i also thought of is it will protect the rear arches from accidental petrol spilling, the tape is petrol resistant Previous Engine: 1040cc Morespeed engine, 1275 turbo head T2 Turbo Mirage Manifolds Megajolt

Guys, be aware that all helicopter tape is not the same quality. 3m stuff is the best i've used, it sticks better and you can get it to follow bends and contours more easily. Also try using a heat gun to warm it uop when you have applied it, it makes it adhere a lot better. |

Forgot to say you can buy it by the metre at trident supplies at silverstone or i think raceparts sell it. |

thanks for the tip! yeah was going to have a heat gun to hand when doing it i thought that might work. The heat will probably give more time to get it right too before the glue sticks. Its going to be fun! Previous Engine: 1040cc Morespeed engine, 1275 turbo head T2 Turbo Mirage Manifolds Megajolt

The stuff is self adhesive, but some brands seem to peel very easily partic if you try and do 2 radius's at a time. The heat gun seams to kinda semi melt the adhesive and it then sticks much better. Dont use the gun on it as you apply it. Do it in a warm garage as well as it is easier to apply. Hate to think how much of this stuff ive applied in recent years. |

cut it to size, peel off the backing, then dunk the whole lot in a bucket of hot soapy water.

Another tip is to make sure you don't get fingerprints on the adhesive, as you'll always see them.

cool do you think it will work like window tinting film then... I might get a small bit and try it on an old bonnet and see if it dries on well enough Previous Engine: 1040cc Morespeed engine, 1275 turbo head T2 Turbo Mirage Manifolds Megajolt
