Just fitted disks on the back of my Sprint. I cant believe the weight saving over LW hubs and alloy drums. Ive saved 5.25kg total. Wicked.
Gavin Wakely and I came up with these we had an alloy billet hub made to our design, meonite disks from F1 go kart, I have Wilwood 2 piston, alloy callipers from race quad, Gav has Brembo from Ducati 916 rear callipers. Theyre lighter than Kad at 2.6kg per side where Kad are 2.8.
My car now weighs in at 470kg all in.

I seriously doubt it!

There are a few ways round the problem of hydraulic handbrakes and MOTs.

The one I have heard of most is fitting a cable from the handbrake leaver to some part of the calliper (one of the pads for instance)

The cable will do nothing except move a bit when the hanbrake is pulled, but as the handbrake willl work and the MOT man can not investigate he has to pass it assuming that it is not just hydraulic.

Clever eh?

I may have posted this before, but here it is anyway.

I can't really see that it would work that well, but it should get you through the MOT i guess.

I guess it will be hydraulic. Not illegal, I have one on another car and it passed MOTs just fine. It is a 1952 morris minor.

From the MOT testers guide -

"Hydraulic parking brakes as a sole means of operation are not acceptable on vehicles first used on or after 1 January 1968".

http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_310.htm

As his is pre 68, as mine is, not an issue. Not a lot of people know that! :)

Youve got it! My car is 1960. There is nothing in the MOT book that says anything about handbrakes before 1968.
Cant do pics yet, but I will.
Cost me around £300.
