Hello there, names Dom. Mint website! big help! Im just about to start a turbo project but have a few questions that i hope someone can help me with. Ive got my shell and soon to be building the engine. Im going to be using a standard 1275 lump and getting the obvious metro turbo parts but i was wandering if theres a difference in heads apart from the cam? ill be getting the comp rat lowered and changing the pistons to fit the 20k bore im planning, but can the crank/gearbox and piston arms take a decent amount of power? are they the same as the turbo? I plan to go to roughly the 150 bhp mark. Also is there any way apart from attacking the manifold with an angle grinder or spending several hundred on a new one of getting a T3 for a R5 on it? Im planning a decent intercooler and radiator to keep up! P.s sorry so long! thats not even all of it! Thanks alot really apreiciate it! Dom

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

well loads of questions ? *smiley*

firstley the 129 940 1275 heads are all the same except the early turbo heads which had a shorther deck thickness.

the turbo sported sodium cooled ex valves, these are not needed on mildley boosted engines.
how you can tell these is the stem dia is larger than the inlets.

most chaps on hear use the 214N stainless minispares race valves as an excellent replacement.

the answers are all out there, i suggest you look in the FAQ & HOW TO section

thats a great start then if you are still unsure please come back & post some more questions on the Help section*smiley*

The R5 ran a T2 turbo, you can use one of these either buying the mirage manifold system £350

Or by using an adaptor plate and the stock metro turbo manifold.

Pm Jimster about the adaptor plates....

And like ben said, use the search button.... all the answers you need are in there m8
