I know its a long time since i last stripped a mini engine but I'm fairly sure it shouldn't look like this*surprised*



and I'm equally sure there's something missing here too...

Thats the engine destined for the clubby estate.
Chris's original engine of 93 vintage.
Had a look at the engine expecting the worst....
Slight scoring on the shells but crank is as new! A good clean up, full set of new bearings, new oil pump etc and will do for us. Sticking one of the 8 ports on it and new gearbox. :)

i saw one of those at AC Dodd's, cept that one had a lot of missing teeth to boot. Surely that must have made one hell of a noise when it let go?

It happened a good few yrs ago and I just took it to bits yesterday, from memory it sounded pretty bad but did drive approx 18 miles home. Got swapped for a swiftune built engine and sat collecting dust since.

yes looks very bad, not seen one like that before!

Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

Its the idler gear which transfers the engine power to the gear box,normally found in the aluminium casting behind the clutch/flywheel
