hi i have searched old post and found a few threads but to no use. a friend has given me a turbo but he thinks it is off a montego or a maestro. there are no id tags on the unit but on the housing it says : dc m27 a/r .48
If in Doubt, go flat out !!! |

On which housing does it say a/r 0.48? Turbine or compressor?

What about the turbine end? This will also have an a/r cast into it. Might have to look carefully to see what it is.

the compresser is a/r 0.48 and the turbine is a/r 0.35 If in Doubt, go flat out !!! |

On a 1380 turbo that would be ideal, but on a 1293 may be a little too big.

Not from that info. Show us a picture and we may be able to ID it.
