Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with Yokohama A032R Tyres in either the hard or soft compound. I am planning on doing a bit of track work and street driving. What did you thin? did they last long etc

Thanks

they will not last long, I have not tried much else than the 032RS's but they where good enough to get the car up on two wheels in the corners:)

sweet that will do fine then. I might order some. I think they will be luck o last that long. Might have to turn the boost down some more.

I had a set on mine for 4 years, changed the fronts for new but originals still on the back for 6 years now, thats about 8000 hard miles with tracking set parallel all round. They may have less life with 1.6 toe out on front as manual says.

I seriously doubt it!

seem fine to me for day to day driving. they tend to let go quite easily though if the roads a bit damp.

I have used A008's and A008R's a lot, they grip very well in the dry, especially when warmed up. They also last usefully longer than 032R's.

ive got the 32s i think in soft well they have a s stamped on them. i was very impressed with them at combe last year but i dont rekon that theyll last long on the front i rekon a couple of thousand miles at the most if a couple of track days is done maybe less with some dag action. i was thinking of having 2 sets of wheels one for normal use and 1 set for for racks but at the moment i dont use it on the street so not bothered*smiley*

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

ive done 2500 miles on my front 032r's, they havent been rotated

30 odd drag starts, most with a crap attempt at a burn out

30mins around combe

and the rest of the miles were thrashing it along the (private) road

theyre quite worn now but should be good for a few more miles

my 008's that i had were going well for 6000miles (i was rotating them) before a puncture in the garage killed them off. The backs are still on and have about 15yrs life left in them at theyre current wear rate

I run A008s now (finally) and have been really happy with them on the road. As others have said - careful in the wet, and nothing stupid. :) Going uphill the other day in the rain and ran across some drainage water flowing across the road - got a little skittery, but nothing tooooo bad. I was thankful it was just my stock 998.

Can't wait to get my own set of A032Rs.

Well I intend to get a pair of these and two spare rims and use tyre softener on them. Fit them on the front, Just for the drag strip alone. A good wheel spin free start is what its all about i believe and whats beter than having the stickiest tyres you can get hold of. Mind you the wear life will be minimal.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

actually a small amount of wheel slip gives you more grip....
