Hi i would just like to introduce myself, my name is Jeremy.Im 23 and i live in New Zealand, i have a 1975 turbo'd mini that im in the process of doing it up, it started out as a 1000cc everyday run about and is now a fast but totally unreliable machine thats constantly giving me problems!

Recently the gearbox spat a bearing and stuffed the brand new turbo and some components in the engine,it is now almost ready to run again but i had this problem of the engine cutting out completely after a few seconds under boost of 8psi...and when you back off the accelerator the engine would come back to life again!
Ive been reading some of the questions and comments on here and have already found a few things that could cause it and will change them...like my fuel line sizes maybe to small, and engine timing maybe incorrect. No one knows anything about mg metro engines over here so didnt know where to look until now!
Carb has been rekitted but dont know what needle, Does anyone know what the 2 pipes on the right hand side of carby does? are they fuel returns or breathers or something? Currently i have them linked together with some hose cause it seems to run beter like that.

Thanks, Jeremy

Heya welcome. If you do a search, there is a couple of good threads on Carb Connections.

Get some pics up, too :)

Welcome, it sounds like you might have the wrong gasket between the carb and plenum, causing the floatbowl not to pressurise under boost.
