I bought some 13x7 tyres to go on my superlites that ive just had powdercoated and the garage couldnt fit them. Hes already ripped two of my new bridgestone potenzas trying to fit them, and i couldnt afford any more new ones so I had to get some 2nd hand pirrellis. They look like they have been hardly used at all, but he couldnt get them on.

He said they are about 20 years old and have hardened too much, but he still charged me £8 a wheel to fit them which id already paid.

Also theres some nice scratches in the freshely refurbished wheels :( He did tell me though that if they scratch it isnt his fault

Sounds like the guy doesn't know what he's doing.

Wouldn't be taking my tyres there. I fitted a set of 10 year old 12" youkeys to my 6x12s with thre leaver in my garage. Blokes talking bollocks.

If the tyres are old I would think twice about using them, but I would not expect too much of a problem getting them on.

Depends what wheels they are.

Some of the cheap poxy alloys have the rim well in the centre of the wheel, which makes tyre fitting difficult to say the least.

Proper wheels will have the rim well offset which makes it much easier.

I don't really know much about this, but i do know that i wouldn't fuck about with tyres.

Worth the cash to get a decent set i reckon.

For instance the new Minispares Minilite cheapo replicas... A friend of mine managed to destroy TWO tyres, and they KNOW what they are doing.
Rubbish design.
