To fit our T2 we have had to make a few bits, the exhaust elbow being one bit being made now.

The first bit to make the elbow has been to make a plate to fit onto the turbo:

Now I have the pattern I can get some more of the plates made no problem. They cost about £10 to £12 to manufacture if anybody is interested.

After that it is up to you, I will show you our finished artical when it is done.

The problem is that the fitmant of a T2 on to a metro manifold using the 'Jimster/TD' adaptor plate is not an exact science. Meaning that any elbow that was made up wouldn't necessarily be a good fit.

I may be able to offer that once I have finished the one I am making and tested it for a bit to make sure it is up to the job. Until then it will be just the plate.

Yes its the same - however you may need to drill and tap an extra hole in your turbine housing.

It depends what its off and how many bolts they used origonly

There is also a variance in some of the T2 / T25 housings... One of the four 'supposedly standard' studs moves by 3mm or so.

And then you have the extra stud that some T2's and most T25's have...

i sure the t2 exhaust flange is different to the t25 as i went to a turbo shop when i was making my dump pipe as they had pre cut flanges and the t25 one didnt fit.

also why do you have 4 holes down one side? isnt there only three studs

This is what we have done with ours. It needs a bit of tidying, but you get the idea.

It's closer to the subframe than the potjoint, but easy 5mm from the joint.

I will be getting some made in the near future. I will put a post when I am ready. Basically me and a mate are going to try and put a big order in (bits for his imp) to keep the cost down.

Yes it is a 998 block, I thought everybody knew that?

Cool, no rush or anything, I havent even got a T2 yet (getting a supposedly recently recon'd one off a reno 5 this weekend).

Gonna persevere with the T3 route, and basically keeping the T2 and adapters a spare bolt on replacement for the T3 when it goes wrong/I get bored.

Know its an old thread, but saw this on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Turbo-Elbow-SR20det-...1QQcmdZViewItem

i know it might not fit a t2, especially in a mini, but its the elbows design that intrigued me.

looks like this elbow has a divider that intrudes into turbo housing to separate the wastegate gases from the turboine gases.....food for thought...

It is definately a good idea to seperate the wastegate gasses and the turbine gasses and join the wastegate gasses later on.

Internal wastegates are a mass production compromise so if you can seperate the gasses it will help.
