Do you guys replace the needle roller bearings for 1st 2nd and 3rd gears?

Or do you just reuse (as I've previously done).

I replace them when i change the component they're rotating against - eg when fitting my new gearkit I replaced them. Whenever it comes apart for inspection, I leave them (including the orientation) if everything looks ok. But if i needed to change (say) 2nd gear, then I'll also change the corresponding needle bearing.

These bearings do little dynamic work in reality. In a helical trans they're taking radial and tipping loads; in an SC trans (and 1st) they're taking plain radial loads - but only when static of course...
In short - these should last a LONG time in a SC trans...

Same as Dave really, if new components are being used then change them as a matter of course, but if the same bits are going back in the same place, just a thorough inspection to make sure they are OK is good enough for me.

Make sure you keep the orientation of the bearings though...

In the same manner - the ends of my idler are marked inner and outer so it always runs the same way...
