hello, with the mirage kit does the exhaust elbow bolt straight up to the maniflow system or the standard metro one, or do you have to fabricate something yourselves? also do you think i'll be ok with a 3" diameter exhaust system or is this too big? thanks, gav

The mirage kit accepts a 2" pipe down near the gear linkage.. I used a playmini system, the link pipe drops right in

I think you would have problem getting a 3" pipe easily down the exhaust tunnel, plus you need to couple it on to the mirage 2"

Well the bigger pressure differential across the turbo the better, but remember that it will still be 2" from the turbo and the downpipe, and only get bigger where your exhaust connects.

For the work it would invovle I doubt that it would reap any great benefit

the mirage kit comes with a downpipe, so you just clamp it to your 2" mid pipe and back box

Have you all used the downpipe provided with the kit?
I struggled to get it to fit with my 2" centre pipe as the mirage downpipe increased to about 3" dia at the end and no way would it clamp on.

Whats going to break next!?

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

that doesnt sound right, my downpipe is 2" all the way.

2" flared to 3" is a hell of a lot. sure nobody has been messing with it?

nope one end fits snug on the turbo then where it should mate with the centre pipe it flares out so we had to "bodge" it. That is the way it came when i ordered it from mirage

Are you sure?

Thats really weird - my mirage and every one that i have seen is 2inch with a slightly wider flange at the end to mount your central exhaust section into.

As Nic and Sumpnut say it should be a nice fit onto your mid pipe. Can you measure the sizes accurately, there's no way it left here flared to 3". If there is a problem, send it back to me and i'll have a look and sort it if there is.

Its ok it'll probably turn out my centre pipe was smaller than i thought. Not really in a position to measure exhaust diameters at the minute.
