I've got a metro turbo fuel pump to bung on the mini, can't work out the best way to secure it though. Do they need to be rubber mounted? I heard the vanes in them were pretty sensitive...

Mine is mounted on the rear subframe, bolted on via rubber exhaust cotton reel mounts.

My metal bodied filer has rubber insulation around it - around all of this I have fitted a standard coil clamp. I then bolt this to the car |

mines in the boot, mounted on the original bracket with rubber exhaust bobbins. ““A turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.”” - Jeremy Clarkson

The pump I bought has big warnings against mounting it in the boot. You certainly can understand that bad things could happen if a hose developed a leak and you had 20psi gasoline spraying around in there with the battery. I'm going for subframe. 1275 with Back Door Turbo |

fortfun i do see exactly what you say but my pipes run through the car as well. and with the tank in the boot anyway i dont see that much more of a risk really to be honest Edited by Carl on 6th Apr, 2006. no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.
