Paint colour code help needed. Anyone have a friend in a sprayshop?

My mini colour code is Mazda 8G7 Mica Blue. I'm unsure if this is the Mazda colour code, or a du-pont (or other paint supplier) colour code however.

After looking at the colour that I've recently sprayed my boot with in daylight, it's clear that this digitally scanned paint is close, but certainly not a match - ie I couldn't spray any exterior panels with the paint I got 'professionally' matched as the mismatch would be obvious...

Incidentally, I did try searching in the Mazda colours over here, but they all seemed to be 4-figure references, not three figures (like 8G7) - hence why we ended up getting it (badly) matched with a scanner...

So - can anyone shed any light on my dilemma? If the 8g7 is indeed the mazda code, then I can probably get the du-pont reference from Du-pont UK and see if it's the same over here - or at least get an alternative reference...
Basically - I need a heads-up of information to start my hunt.

No wonder I couldn't find it in the Mazda colour swatches...





All these years I've been lead to believe it was a mazda colour as that's what it said on my invoice when i had it sprayed...

i read your first post and was just about to say it sounds like a toyota paint code then strolled down and seen youd already found that out

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.
