my gearbox has recently been getting more noisey, then yesterday i was having trouble with it not going into 2nd when changing down, its ok changing up through the gears..then today it was jumping out of 2nd and reverse gear doesnt seem right??

what is likely to be causing this? and am i likely to be causing damage to the engine by keeping on driving it?

cheers!

Well 2nd and reverse both adopt the same synchro hub - and sliding sleeve - and that's about it.
If it's doing strange things, then chances are something has worn and/or broken away. This is now in the oil shared by your engine...

Pull it and sort it out.
