Tripple blade raser close!!!!!

and No Chance! That stuff never sets properly. I've already put 5 tins of stone chip on the bottom with a flash of paint to go over it yet

I could be missing something, but I thought that the whole point of waxoyl s that it doesn't set, and so can kind of "infill" itself?

Firts coat of colour

The picture does not show the colour well what with the flourecent lighting and the harshness of the flash, but trust me, it is exactly the same white as what was on it, it is a blindingly good match to the original paint

Just out of interest how did u remove the soundproofing off the floor? I just did mine with the air-chisel which worked well. Not sure on it weighing 7kg though :o

Any one knoe of a good way to fix these in before i go and re design the wheel*oh well*

As for the sound proofing, I used the air chisle and it did weigh 7kg, youd be surprised when you get it all together in one bag.

Thanks mate, but i shall pass it on to my paint man. He's a mate and doing it for the love of painting cars, though his trade is an industrial coatings apliction specialist *wink* (we are talking serious shit like coating pipes and pumps in neuclear power stations that you can stand in whilest suited up from the radiation) He does the cars as a hobby.

I went this route, not because I cant do it or learn but because I want a decent job, but dont have the time to flat out any mistakes that i will make. Plus the fact he is enjoying it.

That was the first coat of 50/50 and settled nicely with very few particles of shit sitting in it either. The shine was realy good for this first thick coat too. And yes, another three coats to go. Bit panicy about solvent entrapment, so letting this harden well befor the next coat and so on.

I could never have done anywhere near as good a job in the lightning speed that he moved at. I was his paint bitch *laughing* do this, move this hold that, mix this.

I will paint the trailer I will build now i have seen it first hand

oh and the gravity fed paint gun is one of those nasty cheap ones, but does seam to give good results by playing with air pressures and paint

Oh and another thing, we're using Oxygen free Nitrogen from the cylinder. I can get this stuff at work without a problem. this means no noisey compressor  and he supplied some 3M paint and vapour masks. You deffo need those. But the smell of cellulose thinners is fab, rhubarb and custard boiled sweets, mmmmm, nice.

Nice Work

A word of warning,be careful with the Nitrogen. It does not take much in a contained area to lower the oxygen you are breathing. If your getting light headed don`t just put it down to paint fumes.

Hope you are ready for Avon and if I can get cover for standby at work there will be some beers in my beer tent. *happy*

Thanks for the word of warning mate, but like I said, i work with the stuff.

Though, my paint man has in the past used Oxygen*surprised* to which I nearly fell over in astonishment. Pure Oxygen and Cellulose thiners is highly explosive in my mind. But then thats not the only thing hes done that surprised me.

To be honest with you there is still the original stuff under the stone chip i put on,, but ill see how it goes, i know where every one is coming from. Waiting till the car is finished before I do the cavities.

Progress so far

Well the paint is done though we made the decission to miss the 70/30, reason being the 60/40 in this heat had gone off in no time, leaving some overspray on the roof and a few other areas. There is deffo plenty of paint on the car and has a realy good shine as it is. Leaving it for a week or two then cutting it back for the real shine.

Assembly now in progress*happy*
