hi lads ive just put a standard 1275 in my mini whilst i do some work to the turboi have put the turbo unit on the standard engine ive heard that this can be done if boost pressures dont exceed 4psi is this true its a hle engine out of a metty

It's just an engine! of course it can be turbo'd!
If the cr is indeed 9.4:1 in these engines, then 7psi is not out of the question - just make sure you use the 'turbo' dizzy...

The 7psi on 9.4 to 1 is a bit like playing with fire.... Unless its well intercooled i spose

9.4 is std metro turbo compression :)

hence using the turbo dizzy curve...

This is of course assuming 98RON fuel aswell...

I would never advise winding the boost up over 4psi on a HC engine anywhere other than on a rolling road however...

I love the way people assume intercooling will help.....!!!

With high CRs it could take it over the edge!

cheers lads well the cars runnig now and it seems very good its boosting 4psi just hope it holds out untill i get some omegas for the turbo. where is the best place MED?

unfortunately the only place to buy cast omegas are MED...
You might also want to check out the cost of ringsets on omegas... these have gone up and up and up...
