Just wondering what oil pressure (when warm/hot) do people have at tick over and at 3000 rpm and above??

as people say so many different things.

I have a 1450 and it runs at 70psi at 3000 and around 50 at idle when hot. Rev it to 4000 and above and it goes to around 90 psi.

Engines never missed a beat and the baerings look great when i just rebuilt the motor. and it's had a hard life the last 15 years.

prob not much help, but my car when hot runs 50@3000 and 25 on very very very hot idle(i.e. after an hour at 4500RPM on the motorway), normally around 30-35 if im sitting in traffic/town.

thats a 1380 with the "turbo" oil pump from minispares.

When warm, i aim for 50-55psi at full bore. This of course drops to 25-30 psi at idle, but that's more than enough!
Some aim for really high oil pressures, each to their own, but I've never 'lost' a big end/mains shell in the 6 years i've had a turbo or the 3 years previous playing with fast road A-series motors...

mine is roughly the same as daves, around 50-55psi at idle, cant remember the exact figures for rpm over idle.

mine are the same as dave... although thats just what it is I havent set it...

too much oil pressure puts excess strain on oil seals.

cheers chaps, and Dave i know you have said that all along but just wanted to see what else people have, by the way i'm the same as Dave and the others (pressure wise) also with a M spares turbo oil pump.

I'm not using a minispares pump anymore - especially seeing what it looked like when i took it apart.
Got the Avonbar pump instead. Not cheap at 50 quid incl delivery, but those minspares ones really are lousy...

ive got 12.5psi above 3000rpm and about 1psi at warm idle in my N/A 1275. i wonder why its having the turbo lump put in mid june ready for showdown.
