hi! i think it was tom that said you can paint engines with hamerite? I want mine black and im just going to go degrease with gunk degreaser. Ive fully sanded all the old paint off and its down to metal.

Is hamerite ok to use?

haha, turned out alright heres a pic from this morning



Starting to realise though the down side of having it back is that if theres ever any leaks they will be harder to spot.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

just one thing with the hammerite. dont touch it when the engine first gets hot. i found it goes soft but after cooling it cures really well.

may have been as there was only a couple of days between me painting it and give it some stick though, just a warning.

I cured mine with a paint stripper heatgun lol, worked great in a fraction of the time :)
