anyone ever fitted atowbar to a mini? just wondered where it bolts to. im thinking of fitting one to my clubby but id have to just fit it when i needed it then remove when i didnt. reason is in my roofrack post.

my mini originally had a towbar fitted when i first brought it, from what i remember it was mounted on the subframe and through the floor in the rear seat base.

adam has the right idea, they have 2 long beams to the rear heelboard, (think its to stop it flexing more than anything else).

Mine was to the subframe and through the boot floor.

I made my own,2- 3 foot(approx) lengths of angle bolted/welded back to back to make T shape,plate welded on the end to take ball.Bolted to subframe at back with slot cut in at front so it hooked the front of rear subframe between the handbrake cables with a bolt there too.
Only fits with a side exit exhaust Took about 1 hour to make and fit


Metro turbo weekend driver,Mini turbo in the making again!
