Just got round to fitting my air intake temp gauge. The sensor is tapped into the plenum (obviously reading the temp of the cooled air after the cooler) however I need to set the warning light on the gauge for maximum temp, so I can avoid melting 1. Expensive engine parts 2. My wifes patience...again! |

If you check out this link you can see the charge cooler, you will notice that it uses quite a large pre-rad (the smaller rad is an auxillary in line off the main rad)

alex i think you'll find it even higher than that, just depends on the engine spec.

Alex, my folt what i meant was you'll find the 30-40 degress is not a bad intake temp, it will probably be hotter than that before things met.

I put a temp probe before and after my intercooler and I think I got about 95 before the cooler and 30 after it.

I have seen these forsale, but thought them to be a very bad idea. If you spray C02 on your intercooler, yes it will cool it down, but where will the c02 go? if it goes into the air intake, the engine will loose loads of power On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

why will the engine lose loads of power if co2 gets into it? might well be being thick, but surely since co2 cotains oxygen, then it cant be that bad, its not like its starving the car of air or anything?
And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers! |
