I'm going to guess at a mondeo TD? The rubber bellows is to seal against the underside of the bonnet - I know that much at least? On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

thanks for the positive comments chaps , yes there are 7 holes in the bonnet ,if you look at the pic with the bonnet in it you can just see them ,alternator cooling air hopefully wont have enough effect compared to the heat of the air on the inlet side ,in fact it might just cool that end a bit .any more guesses as to what ic it is ?first person right gets a bar of chocolate off dave !!!
