Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

very hard and expensive if it needs building and you dont know much. talking £3kish id say for something reliable.

Look at the ads from Morspeed / MiniSpeed / Vmax / etc for a price for a rebuild of a 'near standard' or modified motor.

For the mini itself - how long is a piece of string? Basically - are you looking at a 'budget' instalation, or a full hit with new bits?

Final tip - take a look in the FAQ / Knowledge sections and have a read. Almost any question you can ask, will already have been asked. If you ask the odd one or two that have been covered, fine. But ask every question without research - and folks will get annoyed *wink*

I don't think anyone on this forum (and there are some pretty smart people) did a turbo conversion as their first project. There's a lot to learn.

It is, of course, still possible, but if you haven't even fitted a stage 1 (for instance) then you're going to get bogged down very quickly.

I did my turbo conversion as my first ever mini haha!

I didnt have a clue what i was doing, just use this forums search to answer questions *happy*

I got it before i passed my test but worked all summer and got all the bodywork done and paintwork done for when i passed but it still had a 998cc engine

I built mine in a year missing college and spending late nights doing it, it would have been sooner but i spent most of the time searching for bits and saving money for parts.

if youve been offered a metro turbo engine, then accept it
