Could this replace our oil pumps?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Oil-Pump-Diff-Gearbo...1QQcmdZViewItem

would a constant 29 psi be enough? he states that he can supply a pump capable of 59 psi...

I'd rather stick with a mechanical pump my self, wouldn't like the fuse to go pop when at full throttle.IMO

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I wouldn't like to use it to completely replace the engine oil pump, however, it could make a very nice supplementary pump to supply for example undercrown cooling jets and camshaft spray bars. If you were feeling especially clever you could link it to an ECU so that it only fired the undercrown jets when on boost......

Ooh, Ooh, run on cool down. T2 with an electric water pump, as well as the electric oil pump and heat soak would be a thing of the past, extending the life of your turbo. Sounds like a plan. *smiley*

Would be nice to have an oil pressure accumulator too for start up. *happy*

Not that there isnt enough room in the engine bay of a round nose Mini *frown*

Resident Cylinder Head Modifier

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

Thinking about it tom, the possibilities are endless with that pump

Pressure fed idler bearings,

Under crown cooling,

Pressure fed cam followers ….etc…etc….

If you want to build that extra special motor with.....
“not much more” expense!

& make sure you have ample volume using the original pump for its intended purpose! *surprised*

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

yeah actually pressurise before starting would be good as would after shutdown. good plan!

was also thinking you could run a seperate oil system for certain things should you wish. the turbo for example and have a quailty filteration system. then should the box go or whatever you dont put iron filings through that. especially if its an expensive hybrid.

that could be really good actually. i was pondering about giving a turbo its own independant oil feed.
