i thought to my self i might buy a cheap mini say for 5 or 600 quid to do a few camping runs in this year rivera etc (me clubbys not practical for this sort of thing) but all you get for that is a mini in need of near enough full restoration. what the fooks going on is it just ebay thats pused the price right up?

i was bidding on a "better" condition j reg on ebay bog standard neon it went for 840 quid what the fooks that all about. in the loot and autotrader there just as dear.

are minis that sort after? seems silly to me

rant over

They are becoming the new driver preffered cars. The classic Mini has become trendy once again, and with the vast number of forums dedicated to the mini , it is only going to get worse as more of these new drivers have not got a clue as to what is a good deal or a total lemon. They will pay silly money for a Mini, in the thinking that they are buying a trouble free car. Not so, but this increases the overall market value of the cars. You and I know the true value of these cars but unfortunetly the new drivers do not, that is the problem.

Also worth mentioning that if you check these forums you will also see many topics about Minis that have been stolen, this also is starting to get worse, again because parts are sought after, but also because of those that get shipped to america to be ringed with one of those log books bought on ebay, so they can enter the country.

if you're gonna leave your Mini somewhere, make sure its well locked up and alarmed at least.

Its ALL bad and will only get worse. Buy several engine blocks now for the years ahead, they are already reaching silly prices. Oh and just for a laugh, have a look at the price of engines from this lot, and note, Ex VAT http://www.mini-metro.co.uk/engines.html

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

5 or 600 quid? LOL... I can't even buy a rusted out shell in the US for that!

Guess this means my MK1 S isn't going anywhere soon. *wink*

keep an eye in the the local trade it, my mates mum sold here really nice one for £700, it didnt have an MOT.

but if you own a couple of minis then its only a good thing when the price shoots up.....

of and a spare engine always a good idea :)
