firstly, i have a '95 1275cc spi mini mayfair. i want to fit a bigger engine, based on boring out a 1275 block to either 1380 or 1460cc, and adding performance head, rockers, cam etc. i understand that i will need to convert to carbs, but the ECU for the injection is a problem. i dont believe i can just cut it off, as some of the cars electrics are also controled by this, eg the alarm etc. is this true?
if so, what wires will need to be cut?

secondly, is it possible to fit the metro turbo unit (T3) onto a larger bore performance engine, eg a 1380cc? i have read articles about superchargers for A series engines, but they cost about 2 grand. it says more power will be given depending on a bigger bore engine. will this be simular to the metro turbo, or will it just blow up every time it moves?

thanks

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

The best bet is to turbo a small bore engine, they tend to be more reliable although saying that Jukka has a 1380 turbo that has done a lot of miles very successfully.

Its the quality of the build that matters. You need a big budget to get some good power from an a - series and to keep it reliable
