That is an interesting solution, good luck and welcome

what a twist, are you using an uprated exhaust manifold and pipes or are they the generic ones?

Good luck with it!

Thanks for all the interest. I'm working with the guys in Utah who have the patent on the rear turbo installations. Plan is to work this up as a kit once it's all sorted. Turbine A/R is .35. Exhaust up front is an SPI cast iron manifold with Maniflow downpipe. It had an RC40 as well. Was intending to keep the front box, but now gone, we'll see if a post-turbo muffler is needed.
The patent info is here: http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?...RS=PN/6,745,568 It explains some about how oiling is handled and the passive intercooling from the long intake pipe.
The boost pipe is going to run up around the front of the engine. Considering adding an explicit intercooler.
Carb is a Weber 32/36 downdraft. I had it on normally aspirated, and found it easy to tune. Carb bonnets are also readily available.
Engine is a Metro LE piece, supposed to be 9.4:1 compression. I've never pulled the head, but it certainly runs well and doesn't use oil. Will be putting in a conservative tune on the Dynojet. Naturally aspirated it runs fine on 87 US octane ( (R+M)/2, roughly 91RON). I have 91 octane (~95RON) readily available. Goal is to produce a tidy bolt-on turbo setup. The plate for the oil pump mount is welded on, but I think could be done without welding.

That should answer your question!

I might be wrong, but i think that Colorado has two seasons: Winter and Summer.

I recall FF asked my opinion on this some time ago - and I said don't go bigger than a 0.35 turbine... That said, I'd love to have a ride in this, to see how it compares to the 0.35 of the stock R5GT unit... Maybe it'll take a bigger turbine? Maybe the compressor can be modified to suit... Either way - sounds like he's got himself forever hailed as a TM innovator - the first to try something very different. Good show that man.

Well, it does rain here occasionally. The air filter is nestled up against the floorpan, and away from the wheels. There is a spot to tuck it up behind the rear valence panel. If it winds up sucking in water I'll try that.
Thanks for all the kind words. Now hopefully it actually works too...

Your looking at it lol, hence the term "rotary muffler"

I do like that install, seen it on a few american cars now, be very interesting to see what the lag is like.

Frustration reigns right now. Waiting on parts.... silly silicone couplers of all things.

Yes, the pipes look great. Professional job, and well done I think.

bet your dying to see what its like!

if you were thinking about this conversion, but live in a rainy area, i reckon it would be relatively easy to bring the whole set up into the boot...
