Basically I'm looking to convert to 10 Inch wheels and I'm trying to work out the optimum width for handling. If I go for wheels that are too narrow then there will be too much tyre roll, which is not good, but if I go for wheels that are too wide it will offset the centre of the wheel outside the axis between the ball joints, making the car more prone to tram lining and bump steer. I realise that tyre choice will also play a part and I’m looking at going for 165 Yokos, but I may be persuaded to change my mind if someone puts a good case forwards other wise. I must stress I am interested in handling on the road here, not looks and not getting the best time on the quarter mile. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

For 10" wheels I would stick to 5" wide for the road using 165/70/10 tyres.

That's indeed correct, but normally 6" wheels go as far in as it's possible. The last inch then MUST go outwards. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:
Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |

Im using 10 X 6 wellers, they seem to be offset to the outside a fair amount compares to other 10 inch alloy wheel ive seen.
