Can someone please provide me with some instructions or a diagram for wiring in a variable boost controller. I have the t-piece type. My wastegate actuator has a hose leaving from the bottom of it.......should i split this and attach the controller in between the two ends of hose?

How do I wire in the boost gauge.....does it attach to the boost controller? I have also noticed that my manifold has been tapped and a small copper pipe has been attached could this be for the gauge.....or should i attach the hose from the uprated dumpvalve to this? or does the dump valve fit to the main pipe in the centre of the manifold.

Can i do away with red air filter thing? Can i just stick small air k&N typefilter to the 2 breathers?

Sorry for so many questions? but i have reached a stalling point!

Thanks,

Paul.

Yes, the bleed valve fits in the pipe between the plenum and the actuator. I think it wirks best when fitted closer to the actuator.

The boost gauge should be attached to the inlet manifold (or at least after the butterfly) so probably best to attach it to the small copper pipe on the manifold.

The dump valve also needs to be plumbed to the inlet manifold, my boost gauge and dumpvalve signals come from the same outlet on the manifold, but it dosen't have to be the same point.

Don't know what the "red air filter thing" is.

K&N Filter things I wouldn't like to comment on, my breather goes into a catch tank.

i can only say what ive done and i thinks its right seems to work ok
im assuming yours is a t3 off a metty turbo. if it is youll probably have a pipe from your actuator to the compressor side of your turbo and where that joins a pipe dangling lose? if so block off the dangling pipe and fit the boost adjuster in the remaining pipe.
ive fitted my boost guage on the pipe that goes from the plenum to the fuel pressure regulater not sure if this is the best place for it but seems to work ok
if the red thing your on about is the bit thats part of the breather system then you can do away with it and use the little k&n jobbies

p.s sorry if you dont understand my answers im not very good at explaining myself *laughing* *laughing*

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

If you fit your boost gauge on the plenum then you only see boost and no vacuum plus you dont see the actual boost the engine does.

You need it plumbed into the manifold after the carb to see that info. :)

when ive got the time ill put the boost guage to the manifold i know you dont get a vac reading but would of thought the pressure reading would be the same on plenum and manifold when ive swopped it one day ill let you know if theres a difference in readings
but turboman id take iains advise because im pretty new to mini turbo conversions and some of the fellas on here are veterans at it *smiley* *smiley*
