I ran qc57c's Ran for a whole year without problems, although I did find if you wetted a plug, it was never happy after that, On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

ithink you may find pete ,that the need for resistor plugs actually comes down to a need for some degree of suppresion of the emf caused by the spark ,if you can do this with the ht lead ,eg a spiral wound stainless coil ht lead ,then i have found on another v8 engine of mine ,i can run a normal plug cos all the suppression is done by the self choking effect of this sort of ht lead ,with minimal resistance ,this engine runs a msd7al2 multi spark capacitive discharge box with enough spark energy to cut thruogh a credit card ,along with a accell dfi programmable fuel injection box ,and i have no emf probs ay all ,and thats with some sensor wires not that far from the ht leads ,which are 8.8mm accell spiral wound ones .regards robert.oh fwiw i allways run ngk full terminal plugs and not the v type or iridium ,i have tried them all and think its just as good to run normal ngk ,whether on the bike, the mini, the v8, or my propane van , the important thing is good spark power ,and a good spiral lead . Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM |

Pete, just looking at that plug chart, do you happen to know the thread size and reach of the standard plug for the k head? On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

ok ,my take !!! yet again !!! i think this subject of resistance is futile ( gratuitous borg quote). the resistance is in the cylinder at pk cyl pressure or at a lean mix or a comb of both , but once the spark is intitiated the resistance can create a longer lasting spark cos the coil cant discharge all at once(any male having gone though puberty will relate to this problem)
