Hi all,

Had MOT today and it failed but not too badly really,

One of the points was that my 13" wheels rub on the footwell both sides on full lock! I have the longer track rod ends on the steering rack could this be the problem?

If not what else could it be and how could i solve it?

Sportpacks have a less lock steering rack,I think you can get limiters that fit so your wheels can't turn so far.

But last time I was at the mot place they were talking about a saxo they had in,and would pass it if it had smooth rub plates where the wheels touched on lock.

Can you cut back the inner wing for the wheel to clear on the tyre

Or whats the off set on the wheels ????

Ive had two minis with 13x6 rims on a standard rack/ bottom arms and niether rubbed the inner arch

This one has 13x7" rims, Yer i thought about the sp rack lot of work tho and expense.

Is it really hard work to fit the steering rack with the engine in? looked in the haynes manual and it seems like a lot of work dropping subframe etc!
