I dont know if the word airconsumtions is right, but how much air do a turbo'd 998 use??? I am thinking of using a different setup on the carbs than the usual hif44 :)

Assume 100% efficiency (which you will not get)

Assume a max engine revs per minute

Then you can work out the air it will use from the swept capacity

Then multiply by the boost level you intend to run

And there you will have an APPROXIMATE mass air flow rate into the engine.

This should be good enough for whatever you need to do to look at your carb/s.

Although I have to say, the HIF44 is a well proven piece of kit when used in blow through format, I will stick my neck out and say I have yet to see anyone better it on a turbocharged 5-port cyl head "A".

Thanks :)

I am thinking of a set of carbs from a motorbike, the problem is just to pick the right carbs :) The ideal carbs, like I see it, would be a set of 2 carbs or throttlebodies from a 2 cyl 750-1000 ccm on a straight manifoil with one barrel for each inntake port :) i am sure the hif44 is wellproven, but the idea is to do something different :)
