Does anyone here who ordered a machined pulley and/or bracket have one yet? Will you be using it in the next 3 weeks?

If your not using it in the next three weeks can i have yours?

I have 3 weeks to finish my car, but my bracket from tom will be another 3 weeks because the cheque didnt turn up and the first pulley i sent had some chips in it he said i was wondering if you could send me yours, and in 3 weeks tom will send you mine to replace it (I will pay you/help out in any way) Tomorow I am going to send tom a new pulley to machine.

I cant put my engine in until have the pulley on because cant get the bottom radiator bracket on, and i have to be out of my garage in 3 weeks time (parents sold house)

I have taken the next 3 weeks off work to finish it off too, interiors finished now, brakes are finished, and all suspension and wiring, only thing left is to drop in the engine and sort out the intercooler install and set it all up for MOT.

If you will let me have your bracket and pulley and can wait 3 weeks for yours, and please please pm me if nothing turns up im really stuck :(

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

its easy enough to take the rad bracket off to fit the pulley at a later date like carl said.

wont it mean taking out the engine again though?

Im not going to have the garage to work in and i dont want to drive it unless its running right or tuned up ive put loads of money and time into making the engine right i want it to be right first time. Also its going to have to be MOT'd and taxed for the as its going to have to be parked on a road for a while in 3 weeks.

The news has come all of a sudden, i was meant to have a few more months to finish it.

To be honest id rather try my best and try get one and get it running right the first time on megajolt.

I have sent you a PM.

As others say, it is more than viable to swap the pulleys over with the engine in the car, you need to remove the radiator, and remove the engine mount bracket, and off it will come once you have undone the bolt.

The pulley you sent has half the rubber missing, and also the face the fan belt runs on has a couple of decent dents in it! It would work, but seems a waste of your money to invest £35 into machining a poor pulley to begin with.

However, if you have real time pressures I personally would get it running on a welded distributor just for now.

Feebs - I'm glad you're being open and admitting that the delay was down to Tom not recieving a suitable pulley, and a missing cheque - rather than suggesting that it's Tom's Fault for the delay...

Good on you. *smiley* *smiley*

no way its not toms fault at all, i didnt tell him how much of a rush im in either and hes letting me send it direct to the machine place. also my computers been down for a while so havent been able to come on as much.

Took some photos today of my engine assembled but cant get camera to upload to pc! its all ready nearly. Ill do that then, and use the fixed distributor, i didnt realise it was half an hour i thought the whole engine would have to come out!!
