Just been out in the garage attempting to fit my kad rear discs,

After admiting defeat for tonight I thought I should leave a few pointers for any one about to attempt this.

The brackets that locate the handbrake cable will need modifying to clear the return spring.

The Split pin for the castleated wheelbearing nut is a complete bastard to get in properly as the hub is longer ( hes the wheel spacer built in)

The longer competition braided hoses with the banjo will not reach, it appears that you need to get the short ones which then in turn connect to a pair supplyed with the kit.

ok, dragged my lazy hung over ass out to do a bit more on this today,

another thing worth knowing before starting this is that the bracket bolted to the radius arm that locates the handbrake cable no longer does so with the disc setup ( the cable ends up about 1/2" further back), all you need is a bracket to hook the spring that pulls on the handbrake lever which is located on the caliper (a small peice of angle will do)

this arangement leaves the original spring floping around on the handbrake cable, assuming it'd rattle and piss me off i removed mine.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

i dont want to pee! on your bonfire mini13,but..................

not many peeps fitt these as the rear drum brakes are more than good enough to do the job even on a 120MPH+ mini

as you have 75% front braking and the rest on the rear!

its the front you need to beef up my friend

the do look good though!

Reading the KAD website they say that they are not increasing the breaking effort but simply for weight saving + fancy shiny stuff

A leather jacket may be the key to success, but not neccessarily female....

No probs Jimster, happy to help.

Just have to get round to fitting mine on the Midas.

They should fit, albeit it uses a metro radius arm instead of the mini radius arm, plus the handbrake is asymmetric cable. Backplates were drilled the same so I assume they will be a straight bolt on.

Cheers,

David

For reference,

The KAD rear disks are 7.5 inches in diameter, 4mm wide and are bolted in a cross pattern approximately 93mm apart.

Cheers,

David
