Ok im treading carefull here as i certainly dont want to step on any toes
I've been making a timing wheel for mine and a friends car as were going to have a mess about with Megasquirt ignition control. Rather than buying the only sensor available at the time for £120, KAD was the only option when we started looking, i started to design a timing wheel and hub to go on the standard 1275 damper.
I've made two up, one for me and one for my mate, but i have enough material left to make up a further 5 - 6 timing wheels and brackets designed to fit with the ford sensor.
The timing wheel fits inside the damper with the inner pressed cover removed (3 rivets), this then allows the custom made hub to bolt on with attached timing wheel. The original timing marks on the timing chain cover need to be pressed flat and the sensor mount on the back of the cover needs to be removed or knocked out the way. Finally the timing cover needs a slight adjustment to allow the wheel to run in close proximity. Sounds a lot, but its not.
If anyones interested let me know, i have 5 roughed out ready to be finished if needed. Im only looking to cover costs of materials and time spent so prices will start at £50 for a timing wheel, posted to the uk, and a further £10 for the bracket.
My friends car is in a much higher state of readyness and will be testing it for me, but needless to say it'll be fine. The wheel was tested on the balancing facility at morspeed and was found to be perfectly balanced.
Picture below shows the finished item, not painted!!, where i bolted the assembly onto my old NA motor.
