I think I have eventually located a turbo dizzy!!!!!

Went down to the garge last night and removed the cardboard that was bunging up the whole were the dizzy fits. Should there not be some sort of housing for the dizzy to fit into, I used a torch and can see right into the engine. Where in hell am I going to get 1 of these and how easy are they to fit?

Also I fitted the boost gauge into the acutator/turbo hose, but am a bit confused as my boost gauge is in the shape of a t-piece....I have fitted a hose at each end, but the downward pipe is free....should i just fit a section of hose and block it up?

Sorry to keep pestering you guys!

Paul.
P.S this engine is driving me mad.....i hope it will be worth!

The boost gauge should be on the inlet manifold, the servo take-off for example if your not running a servo.

Dizzy (on an A+ engine as is the turbo) fits straight into the block. There should be a drive located in the block (like a screw head with a slot across) and it should drop straight in.

Sorry but I meant the t piece on the boost adjuster and not the gauge.

I dont have one of the slot drives in my engine for the dizzy...probably was not but back in when engine was re-built......where can i get 1 and can i fit from the outside of the engine?

Yep it slides in from the outside only. Somebody should have a spare, ill take a look. all a+ ones will be the same iirc. Use haynes to get the correct oreinetation. Its in the supplement of the metro manual as the turbo is slightly different to fit.

Yeah the bleed valve needs to bleed to air so the spare one is where the air comes out of :)

Just seen your diagram on the how do it section. Excellent picture and sort of explains alot. I will just put it in like you have done yours with the one hose connected.

Thanks for the info on the dizzy housing mate, I could'nt sleep all night thinking I might have to take the engine out and strip it to fit 1....what a relief mate.

Cheers.....i am just so glad I found this site!

We aim to please.

Im not sure whether mine was fitted the best, having it "inline" between the compressor housing and actuator may give faster response
