Near Lincoln

to be honest though i live in lincolnshire, the farming capital of the country and i havent seen a road check for years and years.

not that i'm saying its right and you wont get caught but just wondering whether its worth the risk!!

my mate audi A8 is a 3.7 ltr V8 and runs on lpg so he does approx 28 mpg so he only pays 40p a ltr for lpg instaed of 98p so he is driving a A8 doing the equivalant of 60 mpg thats in pug 106 1.1 ltr terroirty and i know which one i would drive.

Living in south wales, I've never once seen or heard of any car, (which does not look likes it's owned by a pikey (ie shagged out) having the tank checked.

The only thing I will add is that with LPG you have to be somewhat strategic about where you can fill up.

For example doing a long journey in an LPG vehicle, if you run out of LPG and cannot find any where you are then you may be faced with driving most of the way home on petrol.

I had this problem, went from Birmingham to Eastbourne. Got all the way down there on a tank of LPG all well and good. Then 5 miles into the return journey ran out of LPG, and could not get any more until Warwick services on the M40 on the return journey. 100 odd miles at 12mpg (towing a trailer) is not amusing let me tell you :(

Should be a good tow vehicle etc if it is the right money, also even if you can't find LPG it should do low to mid 30's MPG.

And have the car as well. That way you have a new car, and a spare arm to hit the silly bitch that pulled out on you with.

im running lpg on my van wolfie, 2 litre 140 bhp on lpg ,get from 25 to 35 to the gallon ,never use petrol in fact the injectors arent even wired up . got a 90 litre tank and get from 300 to 450miles from it ,generally on short trips around these little roads about 320miles to 25 quid at 45 pence per litre ,i love it ,its a prob getting a totally good fuel curve with just a venturi and simple valve ,but its ok ,and cant bebothered to step up to the injection systems .go for it !
regards robert
