my combi tonight has started making a horrid high pitched whislting whenever a hot tap is turned on, but not when the heating comes on, any clues?

Diverter valve..little moter(egg shaped) that shuts the radiaters of to give heating prefferance to the hot water when a tap is run

hm, cant see anything like that under the boiler in the pipework, would it be IN the boiler?

Mines next to the pump,one pipe comes out the boiler,one goes to tank,one goes to the radiaters.says honeywell on it and has a little lever on the back so you can latch it on to heating water

You'll need to remove the cover. If your boiler has a "summer" setting, activate that and you should hear the diverter valve moving clockwork whirring. |
