Hello, my first post here.

I have a newly build engine that has never turned around but by hand, somebody that build it sais that the center main bearing cap cound be the wrong way around, is this possible? will engine be able to turn with handpower then?as it is not linebored to be like that...

you can soon tell buy disconecting the big ends and try turning the crank, this should be easy to turn, then reconect each big end then try.

some times new engines are a bit stiff when all big ends are conected as the rings drags up and down the bores.

im afraid its a process of ellimanation

Okay, engine is bolted to gearbox, and all. its not a performance engine, if it turns light around can i say its the right way around?

if its wrong you may spin a shell or at the very best wear the bearing out fast. Best to check in my opinion.

yes understand, but out of curiosity will it turn hard or light?
