The Eaton type superchargers are all positive displacement machines. I think they are spiral vane type rootes etc.

You can overspeed them to 18k, but watch that efficiency dissapear... Put another way - there is a reason the lines stop at 14k. On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

I think the adiabatic efficiency is only 60%, ie 40% of the shaft power turns into heat.
