Hi all,

Just finished putting new radius arms on my mini and came to bleed the brakes on the back but no fluid is coming out of either side, does this mean that there is air in the whole system? If so do i undo all 3 nipples on the 4pot calipers as i havent bleed these before?

Hopw i make sense, Thanks matt *smiley*

best to read the Haynes manual on this one.

The one-way bleade valves work a treat when bleeding brakes.

Have you got standard or braided hoses at the rear?

If standard, check the metal pipe has not twisted/creased etc, especially by the union on the cylinder.

I had the same problem and turned out to be this

Mine was actually the copper brake line that terminates into the wheel cylinder.

Sometimes you can get an air lock from the master cylinder to the split valve on the front bulkhead. Usually this can be shifted by cracking off the union in the appropriate line (in this case rear) and pumping the brake pedal till fluid starts to bubble out.
If that won't shift it then sometimes getting someone to press their hand over the master cylinder resevoir whilst you pump the pedal seems to work.

If all else fails then you will need a pressure bleeding kit such as an easi-bleed.

Somewhere around Swindon

i always do a basic bleed all round then start from the furthest wheel to the master cylinder and do all the brakes properly

so far i have never had a problem with doing it this way
