First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

Hello all

My friend made me up this:

I was thinking a few others may fancy them too, I put it on my car and it was a straight swap and has caused no apparent fueling problems

Advantages as i see it are :
Improved pipe work runs (shorter)
Less heat gain as the pipes dont run over the manfolds to pick up heat
Dumpvalve and fuel regulator (in my case) outlets come out in a suitable location leading to a neater installation

They are made of stainless and so polish up quite nicely

Would anyone else here be interested? ill see if I can twist his arm into making up some more

They use an exact copy of the metro restrictor ring so all fueling should be ok

ive popped it on my car and all seems fine, although ive got a rolling road in a few weeks so we will know then, but no problems have shown up so far

Nic

I would be intrested in one of these depending on the rolling road results. looking at the pics how is the outlet side of the turbo done on your car? Is it just the standard t2 outlet pipe or is it a custom jobbie?

Either way it looks a really nice setup :)

right, i am just waiting response from my mate, hopefully he can knock them up quicksharp

yep for 2" pipework so your loosing a restriction there, and a 1" dumpvalve take off, they also use a 8mm take off for the regulator pipe-so you doint need to twat around streching 6mm pipe over the reg anymore

ill have to see if i can get him to do paypal, or if not im sure i can trust you iain

stig-my t2 outlet is std using 90deg bend coming off it

looks like a nice piece of work, as the restrictor ring is in place it gets the thumbs up from me, but sadly i'm ok for one at the mo.

Nic.

Just had the van dyno'd at Vmax and Stuart thinks my diy Maestro plenum jobbie is the reason why we're maxing out on AFR under boost despite using a 37 mm orifice plate.

Stuart was still smiling from when he dyno'd yours and recalled that you used the stainless plenum.

Rob H has just loaned me the one he bought from you recently at Combe so that I can try it as a replacement for mine.

If its sorts the problem, am I still able to get hold of a new one from your mate ? How many sovs ?

Ta.

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

In that pic Nic shouldn't the pipe off the actuator go back to the inlet manifold?

More likely the compressor housing with a bleed valve in between.

Edited by paneermeel on 4th Jan, 2010.

there is nothing wrong with a A-series that a turbo can't fix.
