We are just a few weeks behind you by the look of it.

We have been restoring my lads Mini 30.

This was the starting point:

This was a few weeks ago:

As you can see, we have replaced all the normal front panel, both doors skins and the O/S inner and outer rear wings.

This was the end result of four weekends of prepping and painting.

Now I can get back to "Project Turbo"

Its funny i just bought a Mulberry Red Mini 30 myself. Gonna keep it standard though and try to get it concours!!! Was previously owned by the manager of the local bodyshop, so the paintwork is second to none.

I used a polyester basecoat mixed 1:1 with 2K thinners, no hardener, so it was safe to use with a normal mask.

I then went over the top with normal cellulose laquer, thinned 1:1.

I stuggled with "bits" presumably you mean dust. Particularly the doors which I painted separately in the drfaty end of the barn.

Best make a tent out of polythene and damp the floor down.

i prepped mine then had a go painting it myself but really did struggle with dust and couldnt get the finish i wanted so took it to a fairly local painter who does jobs from home, he charged me £250 to paint it and put al the glass in again so i was happy with that
