Hi, just changed exhaust manifold, it was blowing. running all standard mg metro turbo components.

Changed it and so far only bolted the exhaust manifold back on. I was wondering, before i bolt the inlet and the turbo bits back on, if there is anythign i shouild check because im still having trouble with the turbo.

Basically, these are the symptoms...

Turbo whistles & car accelerates runs fine under 3000 revs
If throttle goes over half way open though, or the revs go over that it stals and just cuts out and theres no power at all. Also, theres a sort of light grinding noise coming from the turbo area. Ive checked all the hoses and everything for cracks but everything seems immaculate. Turbo and engine have all been refurbished recently and the engine leaks no oil at all. Another thing ive noticed is its using tonnes of fuel! Is there anything else to check?

Could it be a faulty actuator?

may i recomend that you dont accept the word of the seller that the turbo and engine have been reconditioned recently.

By the sound of it your loosing fuel pressure on boost, so check al the fuel pipes, especialy those that feed "boost" to the FPR and float chamber. and that we pipe that loops over the carb :)

turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)
