I've been trying to workout if it's worth putting a fan (possibly off a motorbike) behind the intercooler to aid cooling (when I get round to installing my turbo set up)

My thoughts on this are two fold:

1) Cooling fans on radiators are only there for when the car is stationary as no air would flow through them otherwise, and an intercooler is only used when the car is moving, so therefore a cooling fan is pointless.

2) The majority of Mini intercoolers are sub-optimally located often only relying on holes drilled in the bonnet for their supply of cold air, and therefore need all the help they can get.

Anyone got any views on this?

ive tried this before and seemed to work with heatsoak issues. cant remember the figures but im pretty sure the difference was about 10degrees, allthough the fan i was using covered most of the intercooler core.
