what is .........
the best petrol resistant thread sealer on the uk market

the reason i ask is because i have made an error!*blush*

when i brazed my outlet union to my tank the end was a femail thread 3/8" BSP then like a bufoon! i fitted a stalk end and sealed this with PTFE tape....... *blush**frown*

no wonder there is a slight smell of fuel in the boot & cab

PTFE tape no go with petrol, diesel or kerosean

OH! well anyone can make a back footer!

but its only a 2 min job to sort though *happy*

Ben,

I use something similar to PTFE tape, but it is petrol resistant.
I'll be putting in an order with my supplier in a few weeks if you're desperate - OR - I can send you my current roll (I won't need it for another 2 weeks) as a non-returnable item *wink*

I normally use hydraulic thread sealant . Type of loctite but i cannot remember the name of it though.

danc, i used a comma brand of what looks like...
the old hermatight Red.

this has sorted the problem
after i sourced this i found a NEST of all diffrent sorts of sealent
i boxed away

enough for ten life times, all petrol resistant *blush**frown*
